What's in the PDF
A 23-point migration checklist for the November 2026 pacs.008 structured-address deadline — distilled from EPAA working-group output, SWIFT CBPR+ guidance and the 308-bank RedCompass survey.
The checklist covers:
- Inventory — auditing your outbound pacs.008 traffic for unstructured-address residue
- Mapping rules — decomposing free-text addresses into ISO 20022
PostalAddressslots (TwnNm, PostCode, Ctry, BldgNb, StrtNm, Dept, SubDept) - Generator updates — patching your pacs.008 templating layer so every new message emits structured fields by default
- Receiver fallback — keeping legacy unstructured handling alive for non-migrated counterparties
- End-to-end test harness — scheme-specific test cases for SWIFT, SEPA, CHAPS, T2
- Cutover signalling — coordinating with your scheme manager on the activation date
- KPI reporting — bytes-on-the-wire of structured-vs-unstructured per FI, week over week
Use it as a project tracker through cutover.

Why I wrote it
I wrote the pacs.008 deadline analysis earlier this month. Several readers asked for a project-tracker version — something they could circulate to their migration squad. This is that.
If your bank is behind on the migration, get in touch — I do selective ISO 20022 transformation consulting and can usually shorten a residual programme by 4-6 weeks with the right intervention point.
